Citifluor mounting medium for immunofluorescence is designed to reduce the fading of the fluorescence of dyes used for labeling biological specimens. In the technique of fluorescence microscopy, the fluorescence is stimulated by high intensity UV and/or visible light. Absorption of the light populates an excited state of the dye (usually a singlet state) and this leads to fluorescence. However, the excited state of the dye may undergo chemical reaction, which leads to destruction as evidenced by the fading of the fluorescence and consequent loss of the image. Glycerol-tris amine buffered solution with a refractive index of ~1.52. pH 8.5.

EMS-Mount is a non-permanent, low viscosity an aqueous mounting medium designed for mounting of tissue sections and cell smears with peroxidase and alkaline phosphatase chromogens that cannot be dehydrated with organic solvents. This mounting medium preserves Fast red, Aminoethylycarbazole (AEC), BCIP/NBT, BCIP/INT chromogens and is also compatible with counterstain like Hematoxylin and Nuclear fast red (NFR). It is also suitable for chromogens like DAB and DAB with nickel and cobalt. (It is not compatible with H and E staining).
Application: Mounting of chromogens that cannot be dehydrated with organic solvents. Ready to use. Storage at 2-8 degree C is recommended.

However, the excited state of the dye may undergo chemical reaction, which leads to destruction as evidenced by the fading of the fluorescence and consequent loss of the image. Aqueous solution of poly (vinyl alcohol). Retardation of photobleaching is effected by the addition of the aqueous antifadent solution AF100. Glycerol free.

VECTASHIELD Antifade Mounting Medium prevents rapid photobleaching of fluorescent proteins and dyes. It does not solidify, but remains a semi-liquid on the slide and can be stored without sealing. If desired, coverslips can be sealed around the perimeter with nail polish or a plastic sealant. Mounted slides should be stored at 4 degrees C, protected from light. VECTASHIELD Mounting Medium is compatible with a wide array of fluorochromes, enzymatic substrates, and fluorescent proteins, including many of the fluorophores used in super resolution methods like STORM, STED, and 3D-SIMM imaging, extending their lifetime and enhancing their photo-switching characteristics. (Olivier, N. et al., 2013, Biomedical Optics Express, Vol. 4 No. 6, pp. 885-899). The refractive index is 1.45. Ships at Ambient Temperature and Once received the storage temperature is 2-8 °C.

Vector Laboratories VECTASHIELD® HardSet™ Antifade Mounting Medium With Phalloidin 10 ml
VECTASHIELD®HardSet™ Mounting Medium prevents rapid photobleaching of fluorescent proteins and dyes. After approximately 15 minutes at room temperature, the mounting medium will harden, the coverslip will become immobilized, and optimal antifade ability and refractive index of 1.46 will be achieved. Mounted slides should be stored at 4 degrees C, protected from light. VECTASHIELD HardSet Mounting Medium is compatible with a wide array of fluorochromes, enzymatic substrates, and fluorescent proteins. The refractive index is 1.45. This formulation of VECTASHIELD HardSet Mounting Medium contains TRITC-phalloidin. Fluorescent derivatives of phalloidin are used to stain actin filaments. TRITC (tetramethylrhodamine) is excited at 544 nm and emits at 572 nm, producing an orange-red fluorescence.

EverBrite™ mounting medium is a revolutionary antifade mounting medium optimally formulated for preserving fluorescence of Biotium's CF™ dyes and other fluorochromes. Unlike VectaShield®, EverBrite™ is compatible with cyanine-based fluorophores like Cy® dyes. The mounting medium permits immediate imaging of slides and tissues after sealing edges of coverslips with nail polish or Biotium’s CoverGrip™ Coverslip Sealant. After mounting, slides can be stored at 4°C for a year or longer. EverBrite™ provides a high level of protection from photobleaching over a wide range of fluorescence wavelengths. VECTASHIELD Vibrance Antifade Mounting Medium with DAPI offers superior protection against photobleaching during fluorescence-based imaging of cells and tissue sections. It is supplied as an aqueous, ready-to-use formulation with a blue fluorescent counterstain. No sealing is required, and sections may be viewed after only one hour. There is minimal bubble formation, retraction or background development over extended room temperature slide storage. It works well with dyes and other fluors across the spectrum, including those with far-red fluorescence. The refractive index after curing is 1.47. 12-month expiration.
